Don't look now!: Travel

Some people travel to Sydney to see ...

I've been there done that ... so when Mr DLN and I had our grown ups only weekend away this weekend I went here instead ...

and then I took a short walk to here ...

why would I do this... because I didn't have enough fabric ....silly!!!!

So at least for the time being ... I do now! I drew up a plan for this lot last night and I can't wait to start cutting ... but for now it's back to my hand sewing!

A few weeks ago I sent off a box filled with my patterns on a very long journey across to the other side of the world!!! Now they are living with this mad pair of English birds! I have absolutely loved my email conversations with Emma & Lisa ... they certainly are a lot of fun!

So now you can buy my patterns from Buttonberry! Apparently a bundle have already been sold and Sue is going to be getting the How Does Your Garden Grow pattern for being the very first person to buy one from the girls. I am not sure if you have a blog or not Sue ... if you do please let me know and your extra pattern will soon be on its way.

Hettie's Patch has also just booked me in for a weekend in November as well as October so it looks like you South Australians are going to be getting a big dose of Don't Look Now in a few months time! YAY!!!! I also believe that Silly Gilly is planning on organising a blog meet to rival the whole Ballarat experience .... ;)

All I want for Christmas is ...

a Bernina 820 ... the one without the embroidery pack if you're reading this honey! :)

OK ... so maybe we could combine it with my ever looming 40th birthday and every other birthday & Christmas for the foreseeable future .... I'm sure I can talk Mr Don't Look Now into some arrangement !

Besides if I had one I could roll around in my fabric, smile ALL the time & and look at least 10 years younger! That has to be a good thing! OK ... so I already roll around in my fabric but I could definitely loose 10 years!

Today was my first day at the Houston Quilt Festival and my poor feet are feeling very sorry for themselves! I only managed to make it around the vendors today leaving the Quilt show for tomorrow. I bought some fabric ...

... alot that I have used quite extensively in the past, however, they were significantly cheaper than I could ever get at home!

I also collected some batiks ... not my usual fabric choice. I have often admired quilts at shows that have used batiks, however, they are usually ridiculously expensive and when I look at the fabrics individually they do little for me.

So why did I get these? Well they were $1.75 per fat 1/4. How could I not not try them out at that price? (Sorry about the photos .... colours don't do well in hotel rooms!)

I bought a lot of notions for prices that could not be passed!

These needles were introduced to me by Jenny many years ago. They are the best needles for needle turn applique that I have ever used. If you can get hold of them give them a go ... they are terrific!

As for the rest of the family ... well they are all still living it up in Disneyland and are planing some serious Trick or Treating with Mickey tomorrow night!

We all spent the day there on Tuesday in the searing heat!
