If you have found your way here then this is where you will find out all of the information regarding the Don't Look Now! Joseph's Coat Quilt Along! I have been a little overwhelmed by the response to this quilt along! I must say that I kind of expected maybe 20 at the most ... not over 150 in the space of a couple of days!!! So I guess ... the more the merrier!!!
I will need to do things a little differently to what I had originally planned ... I just don't have time to list all of you individually in my side bar ... hence the opening of this specifically dedicated page for the quilt-along. I will also need you to do the whole Mr Linky thing at the bottom of this page to make sure that you are added to the list of people taking part and to make sure there is a link to your blog or Flickr Account or what ever ... we will all want to watch your progress! If I had realised that there would be so many of us I would have done this when I first suggested the quilt along ... sorry!
Here are just a few bits and pieces you should know before we start ....
I think that the way I plan to make this quilt will be suitable for those with limited experience ... providing you follow the directions carefully! I will help out as much as I can if you are having trouble ... but I will expect you to have given it a good go before hand, please!
I will NOT be using needle turn ... so for all of you that were excited to learn needle turn .... sorry! I will be teaching you an applique technique where the edges are turned and the finishing stitch is the same as the one used in needle turn ... BUT the technique is not needle turn, as such.
I have set a goal of 1 1/2 blocks per week (or 3 blocks a fortnight) to start with ... this will sound slow for some and impossibly unachievable for others. I set it at this so that the project wouldn't go on and on for ever and so that we can hopefully maintain our interest in the project ... but if you can only manage 1 a week so be it!
If you have a blog please link to this page if you are participating- this page will be where you will be able to navigate to all of the pages related to this Quilt Along. If anyone is a whiz at putting together sidebar buttons I would very much appreciate it if you could help me put one together for us.
