The little people woke this morning for the first time in weeks without having to be begged to get up and get ready for school ... not because they were excited to go to school but because they have been anticipating this for the past few days....
I love the whole build up to Christmas ... even as the kids get older it is still just as exciting as it was in their first few years.
Plus what's even more exciting ... I only have to make 60 more school lunches before school holidays!!!! Wooohooo!!!
What's more I have finally found some time to sew this week .. what a pleasure!
This is one of the projects from Memories.
So nice to just make something for the heck of it!
Oh and I almost forgot it's the first day of Summer ... oh how I love Summer days ... mind you it wasn't much of a Summer day here in Melbourne today ... but all good things come to those who wait!
Happy days!
Kelliex
PS You may also like to have a listen to this ...
I kind of cringe at hearing my own voice so I'm trying to avoid it ... but it was lovely to meet Pat and it wasn't nearly as terrifying as I had anticipated!!!! A friend told me that it was very me ... not so sure if that was a complement or not but in the mood I'm in today I am just going to assume that it was!!!! :)
I love your quilts! Stunning! :)

At first glance I thought your Advent calendar was quite small but the noticed it had comics and magazines in it so it must be HUGE and stacked to the gills with goodies too .... lucky kids :-)

Oh, I just have to tell you that I loved working on my Rainbow Lollipop quilt. I just finished it (except for the label). I was pretty good at doing the swirls, but they're no where near as good as yours!!. I wish you were closer so that I could have a lesson. Thanks again for a great pattern!! I blogged about it today, so come by for a visit to have a look.

Hi Kellie,
I had no idea you had gotten the 16. I've met you a couple times in Houston at market, and have just seen pictures of you FMQing on your little machine. I was eyeing the 16 as well in the fall Market of 2010 and got one in April of last year. I absolutely love it!!! I think it's a brilliant option for FMQers that want a bigger machine but don't want the full size long arm. I'd love to hear more about what you think of it, how it differs for you from using your regular machine and any helps or suggestions you might have. I bought both extension tables, which I'm really happy with. Not many people have this machine, so I haven't seen much of it, but I think it is going to take off with so many quilters starting to experience FMQing. I'm so excited you have one!!! Why don't you do another post all about your 16 with lots of pictures. I love your work, thank you for so openly sharing. Your talent is one of a kind, and you have brought to this industry an amazingly different aspect of quilting.

Greetings! I just ran across your Joseph's Coat Quilt Along. Frankly the name is what caught my eye ... long family story that I won't bore you with. The project has me so intrigued that I feel compelled to make one! But I see that the quilt along occurred in 2010! Boo hoo!
Your instructions are still available for viewing ... at least it seems that they are all still available. Btw, your pictures and steps are superb for the applique! I won't be able to start until next year as I have so many other quilt projects for 2012 going. To make sure that I have all of the instructions and steps, my first preference would be to purchase the pattern. If you do not have it for sale, may I download/copy the instructions I see? I'll probably have to send another message to make sure I found all the instructions.
You have such a world wide following ... where are you? I see references to Australia and England, but then someone met you in Houston. Isn't the internet fabulous!?

Hi Kellie, Just commenting to say hi and hope all is well. I miss your posts, too. Your FMQ swirls are my favourite -- I'm getting close, but not there yet. And haven't dared to try on a 'real' quilt yet;). Would love to hear how you like your Sweet 16.
Keep well,

Vacker Focaccia!
