OK ... I know a lot of you have been waiting for this ... Little Monsters is finally ready for release under the Don't Look Now lable!!!!
This quilt uses turned edge applique, raw edge applique & my simplified method of trapunto - the pattern provides instructions for all of these techniques.
There are also two bonus cushion designs included in the pattern!
and no ... you won't need to apply to change your son's name in order to make the cushion on the left ... which is called Monogram Monsters! I have included instructions so that you can adapt this project to suit any name! The cushion on the right is called Peek-A-Boo!
You can access this pattern from any of the retailers who stock my patterns ... if your local shop doesn't have it in stock yet then please just ask and they will be able to get it in for you.
Several people have asked for fabric packs for this quilt Ballarat Patchwork, Patchwork Angel, Addicted to Fabric & Blueberries ... just to name a few are all able to put together packs for this quilt.
Are you sick to death of giveaways yet ... you may well be ... but you can't release a new pattern with out giving something away!!!! Soooo if you leave a comment on this post between now and 12MN (Australian EST) on the 23rd of April I will select 1 random commenter and send them a copy of Wish you were here together with a little pack of fabric & supplies suitable to make up this project.
Good luck guys!!!
The lead up to the beginning of April really has been outrageously busy - which has meant that I have missed out on sharing many things with you ... I will get to these things I promise ... including classes at Patchwork Angel, Patchwork on Central Park, Ballarat Patchwork & Blueberries - I haven't forgotten you! I'm sorry guys there just isn't enough time in the day at the moment!!!
It is Quilting Month at Sew Mama Sew this month and I am one of their guest editors ... which is pretty exciting to say the least. There are lots of things happening over there so make sure you drop over and take a peek ... I will be writing a post later in the month regarding Domestic Machine Quilting ... so stay tuned!
Before I go ... another little look at something else I have been working on ...
.... I love this project! Just another couple of weeks should do this one and I'll be able to manage a 'full frontal'!!!
Enjoy your week!!!!
Kellie
PS. This months Homespun Magazine features a block that I designed for this year's Charity Block of the Month - Life is a Celebration
This is a great project that has some pretty terrific other designers who have also put blocks together for the project.
Unfortunately, the dimensions of the centre white on white block are incorrect... the correct dimensions for this panel are .... 17 1/2" x 13 1/2". If you have already cut this block incorrectly ... set the fabric aside and you will be able to selvage this fabric to use elsewhere in the project.
I thought you might also like to see this ad from Patchwork Angel which was also featured in the magazine!!!! I seem to recognize many of these quilts & cushions!!!!
Hi Kellie,
The new quilt is awesome. I have been so inspired by your blog. I featured my first attempt at a tree based on your Lilly Pilly quilt on my blog a few weeks ago. I have already started planning a second one in a different colorway. I would love to win a pattern from you. Your work is amazing. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

I was looking at a closeup of your quilting and I just have to ask, does your sewing machine have a stitch regulator? Your stitches are so even!
Thanks,
Susan

I just ordered those lil 'ol monsters from Twiddletails even though I haven't made the last patterns of yours that I got. I did make a friend of mine a cute cute cute pillow using bits and pieces from your patterns. I love using your little birdies every chance I get. I love your style! Sadly, I have fallen far behind with my Joseph's Coat, but I made it one of my quilty New Year's resolutions so I haven't given up yet. Your little sneak peeks are very intriguing, I can't wait to see what you are up to. You HAVE been busy!

Hi Kellie,
Little Monsters is my favourite pattern of yours, I really love it. There are so many nice things to do for girls, but it can often be hard to find something that is bright and funky for boys. This pattern is perfect.
Cheers Pam in Horsham

I love it - the monster cushion can easily adapted for girls on a different colour way. I love bright things - a mile away from "old fasioned quilt projects" - just what I enjoy sewing
