OK ... I know a lot of you have been waiting for this ... Little Monsters is finally ready for release under the Don't Look Now lable!!!!
This quilt uses turned edge applique, raw edge applique & my simplified method of trapunto - the pattern provides instructions for all of these techniques.
There are also two bonus cushion designs included in the pattern!
and no ... you won't need to apply to change your son's name in order to make the cushion on the left ... which is called Monogram Monsters! I have included instructions so that you can adapt this project to suit any name! The cushion on the right is called Peek-A-Boo!
You can access this pattern from any of the retailers who stock my patterns ... if your local shop doesn't have it in stock yet then please just ask and they will be able to get it in for you.
Several people have asked for fabric packs for this quilt Ballarat Patchwork, Patchwork Angel, Addicted to Fabric & Blueberries ... just to name a few are all able to put together packs for this quilt.
Are you sick to death of giveaways yet ... you may well be ... but you can't release a new pattern with out giving something away!!!! Soooo if you leave a comment on this post between now and 12MN (Australian EST) on the 23rd of April I will select 1 random commenter and send them a copy of Wish you were here together with a little pack of fabric & supplies suitable to make up this project.
Good luck guys!!!
The lead up to the beginning of April really has been outrageously busy - which has meant that I have missed out on sharing many things with you ... I will get to these things I promise ... including classes at Patchwork Angel, Patchwork on Central Park, Ballarat Patchwork & Blueberries - I haven't forgotten you! I'm sorry guys there just isn't enough time in the day at the moment!!!
It is Quilting Month at Sew Mama Sew this month and I am one of their guest editors ... which is pretty exciting to say the least. There are lots of things happening over there so make sure you drop over and take a peek ... I will be writing a post later in the month regarding Domestic Machine Quilting ... so stay tuned!
Before I go ... another little look at something else I have been working on ...
.... I love this project! Just another couple of weeks should do this one and I'll be able to manage a 'full frontal'!!!
Enjoy your week!!!!
Kellie
PS. This months Homespun Magazine features a block that I designed for this year's Charity Block of the Month - Life is a Celebration
This is a great project that has some pretty terrific other designers who have also put blocks together for the project.
Unfortunately, the dimensions of the centre white on white block are incorrect... the correct dimensions for this panel are .... 17 1/2" x 13 1/2". If you have already cut this block incorrectly ... set the fabric aside and you will be able to selvage this fabric to use elsewhere in the project.
I thought you might also like to see this ad from Patchwork Angel which was also featured in the magazine!!!! I seem to recognize many of these quilts & cushions!!!!
Hi Kellie,
I am working on your little Monsters already from the pattern in Homespun. It looks great!! Just putting the first border on. I used raw edge applique however, not hand applique, but it still looks great. Did the Trapunto as well. Trying to win a prize at our quilt show in October. Will let you know how it goes.

Kellie,
You are truly an inspiration. Little Monsters is great! I am in awe of your designs and quite mystified by the amount of time that goes into creating and making these works of art. I would love to win one of your patterns (Loving the little bird on the tree)and give it a go! I live in the USA so if I'm lucky enough to win (I surely hope so)I will gladly pay the shipping. Thanks for a great blog.

"wISH YOU WERE HERE" in Tassie so I could do one of your classes. I've watched everyone with envy as they've produced your gorgeous projects.
I've loved the Monster Quilt since I saw it on Display at the Melbourne Trade Show, my son reckons he's too old for it so I might have to make it for myself or even the little cushion would do.

I have this issue of Australian Homespun magazine and have to say I love this monsters quilt pattern. It's the next project on my list of things to make. I'm a little afraid but also eager to try all of the "new" techniques in this quilt. I'm sure my son will love it.

Kellie, I love your monster quilt and am looking forward to my class with you in July.

I love those cushions - I eventually managed to track down the relevant copy of Homepsun in the UK but now have an urge to have your pattern with the monster cushions too! (Would probably a good starting point before launching into a full blown quilt for the first time too!).
Love your colour choices and patterns they make your heart sing.
