Thank you all for your enthusiastic response to Little Monsters. I'm thrilled that so many of you like it!
So does Joshua ... thank goodness!
Quite a few people have said that they intend to make a 'girly' version of this quilt! It can't wait to see one made up, I think it would look spectacular!
But first to the winner from my last post ... the kit for Wish you were here goes to ....
... who left the 38th comment ... congratulations Jo I hope you like it ... oh and I'd love to come to Tassie for a class ... know anyone who would have me??? :)
Quite a few weeks ago now a group of girls who took one of my workshops at Ballarat Patchwork totally blew me away with their skills, enthusiasm & industriousness! These girls really got the most that they could get from this class!
Most of the local classes that I run are held with a week or two break in between the two days of class. During the break the girls work on their technique and come back for the second day with some practice under their belt and any questions that they may have though of when they were working at home.
This class took full advantage of this and returned to the second day having finished their original practice piece and in a couple of cases finished a second practice piece and started on a third project!!!!!
It was a pleasure to teach you all! Thank you!
A huge thank you to Jacqueline.... who very kindly let me steal her photos which made writing this post soooooo much easier!!!!!!
This is Jacqueline's project ... she really has done a great job with this!!! Please stop by Jacqueline's blog ... she makes some very beautiful things! Thanks again Jacqueline I owe you one!!!!
My next scheduled workshops at Ballarat Patchwork are booked for the ...
7th & 21st of August
6th & 20th of October
Please give Emma a ring if you would like to come along!
The Australasian Quilting Convention started here in Melbourne today and is well worth a visit if you are in the area! If you are planing a visit you will see some of my things on the Blueberries Stand ....
on the Institches of Williamstown stand ....
... on the Ballarat Patchwork stand ...
& my newest quilt Peak Hour which will appear in issue 11.6 of Homespun is on the Universal Magazines stand ... but more on this a little later!
Drapers, Patchwork on Central Park, Patchwork Angel, Blueberries & Country Thyme Patchwork class reviews still to come!!!!
You will find my artical here on the Sewmamasew blog today ... I have taken a look at domestic sewing machine features that make free motion stitching that little bit easier .... go take a peek!
I haven't pointed you all in the direction of the Don't Look Now ... your take on my designs page on Flickr for ages .... you really must go take a look ... you guys are really making some beautiful things!!!! Well done!!!!! If you have made something using one of my patterns or in one of my classes please upload your photos so we can all enjoy your work!!!
Enjoy your weekend guys ... I'm going to be stitching up a storm with the girls at Miss Milly's in Traralgon!!!!
Kellie

I will have to get that magazine too, the car quilt is so cute! I love the Little Monster quilt and had to have that magazine. Now all I need is someone to have a baby so I can make it. :)

I'm drooling after seeing all you photos! The class looks like so much fun (my machine doesn't lend itself to free motion quilting, darn it!) and the Quilting Convention looks to have been so much fun. Wish we had events like that around here! Thanks for sharing. ~karen

Your quilts are amazing. I was lucky enough to fly down to Melbourne from Sydney for the day to go to the Quilt Convention and saw your quilt in person. They are so much more amazing up close. The photos of them are great, but in person they are like WOW! I bought some of your patterns and can't wait to get started. Any chance you will be teaching classes in Sydney?

Wow I would be "close" to heaven if I could take a class from you - definately a master/inovator of applique for sure!!!
Next time you're on the East Coast (America) I'll take a trip to see you for sure. =oP
Just so you know I'm still with ya on Joseph's Coat. Stitching as much as possible between long hours at work. I'm thinking of taking your advice and making a smaller version. I have enough blocks finished for that I think...yes I know I need to upload a photo (tomorrow possibly?!) YAY!
Merry sewing!!!
