and Lara!
I am so very pleased that two regular visitors won! Thank you both for letting me know, on a regular basis, that I am not hanging out here by myself!
You will also find a sock monkey in your packages ... well if you didn't notice already I haven't quite made Lara's yet but it will be in fine monkey shape by Monday. Could you both email me your postal details and I will get them off to you.
It has certainly been a busy week here and I think that Outlook Express may well never recover. Thanks to a girl who is one of the kindest people I have ever met who mentioned my tutorial to Craftzine which has led to mentions on One Pretty Thing and Mom Advice. There were also a few other message boards who also included a link to the smocks.
Thank you so much everyone! I have been totally blown away by the response to say the least!!! I have a few other things that I want to share with you all at some point in the future including a puppet theater (no photos yet sorry) & the tents that I used recently for Joshua's party ... but for now I have some other pressing jobs to finish before we leave for our holiday in three weeks.
This week I have perfected my procrastination skills ... achieving nothing much before midday. I have rarely gotten to bed before 3am. I have repeated this line on occasions too numerous to mention ... "please kids you have to go and let me finish this quilt!". I have given my Bernina a run for her money to the point that she bit me on the finger on Thursday night ... OUCH!!!!!!! And all I can show you for now is this ...
oh and maybe this too ... is this too much Catherine??? :)
For the life of me I am unable to settle on a binding ... you have no idea how many stripes I have in my stash ... and not one of them is quite right! So brace yourself Jenny you will be seeing me Monday morning as soon as I off load the kiddos! Mind you it is no hardship to visit you ... things are looking pretty nice across that side of town!!!!!
Our Miss Megan got to have a play with her new toy and look what she has made herself!!!!
Anyway I should go and rev up the old machine again ... thank you all so very much for your support!
Happy 'back to school Monday'!
Kellie
PS I have not visited Bloglines this week ... but I will take a deep breath and pop by in the morning and make myself known to you all again!!!!
Yeaaahh, well done to Soo and Lara, lucky things :-). For the binding I like the 1st one and the 3rd one. Megan definately has your genes, those are great. You do realise you will be fighting the boys away when she is a bit older!!! Had to laugh at the pic of the kissing lol. Have a lovely weekend .

Funny...
I just got back from Amitie. I dropped in 10 minutes before closing time and the joint was jumping. I didn't get out of there until 4.30.
There was fabric strewn everywhere! (Not by me, I hasten to add. I just wanted a template and a sewing machine needle.)

Oh, and I forgot to say, I'm such a dope. I kept looking at that monkey thinking -- "Does he have two right arms?" Then I smacked myself when I realized it was his tail! Doh!

Oh, i wish I could machine quilt - yours is really stunning - where on earth do you start with something like that? I've got a Janome, and although it comes with the foot attachment I'm just clueless. Guess I should stick to bags and let you experts continue to dazzle us novices!

Wow, the quilt looks increadable, you are very talented to say the least, and your girl looks like she will follow, good job, both of you.
Posted by: Leah | October 06, 2008 at 02:10 PM
Usually when my sewing room is that tidy it means I'm avoiding doing something else - so I am an expert tidier! I'll keep your room tidy if you teach me to do machine quilting? OK, so its a bit far, but.........
